RIDE - Good Practice Directory

 

RIDE Good Practice Directory was developed within RIDE project co-funded by Erasmus+ and contains case studies from RIDE partner countries detailing the approaches and processes adopted for an inclusive, diverse and equal youth work practice.

The Good practice directory was developed within RIDE project. RIDE stands for “Resources for Inclusion, Diversity and Equality” and it is a two-year project, funded by Erasmus+ European Fund. RIDE project created a network of partners who share a common vision of quality youth work and developed a comprehensive Toolbox providing youth workers with practice resources implementing principles of inclusion, diversity and equal opportunities.

    RIDE - Practice Resource

     

    RIDE - Practice Resource was developed within RIDE project co-funded by Erasmus+ and contains a variety of practical tools for youth work.

    The RIDE Practice Resource intends to provide youth workers with variety of practical tools organised
    in 10 thematical session plans. Each session plan begins with overview of the aims, target group and
    resources needed. Then follow the topic introduction, relevant statistics and data overview for all
    partner countries and set of non-formal activities and evaluation methods.

    The session plans deal with topics less treated in existing resources including also challenging and hot
    issues concerning social mediahate speechradicalisation and extremism. Other sessions are
    dedicated to young people living in rural areas, the reinforcement of young people’s with mental
    disorders self-esteem and projecting future of NEET young people whose numbers are disturbingly
    high in some European countries. Non-formal activities included in the session plans are also designed
    to raise youngsters’ awareness of economic differences, migration, unemployment or disabilities.
    Further attention is also paid to the encouragement of interfaith dialogue and promoting
    understanding of cultural diversity.

    RIDE Principles and Approaches Report

     

    The Principles and Approaches Report was developed within RIDE project co-funded by Erasmus+ and it gives youth workers the opportunity to think deeper about inclusion, diversity and equality in order to enhance their understanding and consider their response for their daily practice.

    Inclusion, diversity and equality are terms which are often spoken about. Why should youth workers engage in the promotion of these values? What underpins these terms? What do they mean? Does everyone have the same understanding of them?

    After a theoretical introduction into the terms and their historical-philosophical roots, the report sums up information gathered from the United Kingdom, Italy, Croatia, Turkey and Slovakia, including:

  • Description of the individual national circumstances for inclusion;
  • EU legislation compared with home country legislation;
  • Analysis of national guidance for youth workers, professional practice guidelines, and associated value bases.
  • This information is brought together to compare and contrast the principles for practice in order to develop a clear rationale for an inclusive and comprehensive approach for youth work.

    RIDE Training Resource - Training Course for youth workers

    RIDE Training Course was developed within RIDE project co-funded by Erasmus+ and contains a training course for youth work practitioners.

     

    The resource can be used by anybody working with others. Each of the three interactive
    sessions develops awareness of inclusion, diversity, and equality issues as well as challenging
    practice. It explores our concepts of culture and how to relate to those who hold different values
    to us. The resource aims to enable you to reflect upon how inclusion, diversity and equality
    principles can be practised in your setting, based upon respect and a willingness to work
    together. These sessions will enable all participants to reflect on the relationship between
    theory and practice, just ensure you include time to do this well.
