Nowadays, when children spend a lot of time in front of screens and when they are taught that with little effort they can get a lot of pleasure and stimulation, it is important to use every opportunity to cultivate healthy lifestyles (staying in the air, sports, competition, bearing with victory and loss. ..).
The Children's Olympics is a real opportunity for that. 400 children from 10 different kindergartens participated in the competition. Children competed in several categories: long jump, ball throwing, relay race, running, football and tug of war.

Konstantina SoumpeniotiPromoting an active lifestyle with children is essential for their physical and mental well-being, and we integrate various activities into our routine to encourage them to stay active. Here are some ways we promote an active lifestyle in our classroom:
1. **Outdoor Play**: We make time every day for outdoor activities like running, jumping, and playing games such as tag or hide-and-seek. Spending time in nature helps children develop motor skills while enjoying fresh air.
2. **Sports Activities**: We organize friendly competitions and sports days, including activities like relay races, mini-football, and sack races. This not only helps with physical fitness but also teaches children teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship.
3. **Movement Breaks**: During the day, we incorporate short movement breaks where children engage in simple exercises, stretches, or dance. These breaks help them release energy, stay focused, and improve their physical health.

4. **Encouraging Physical Challenges**: We set up obstacle courses or activities like jumping over small hurdles, throwing balls into baskets, or running through cones. These activities are fun and challenge children to push their physical limits in a playful way.
5. **Teaching Values of Competition and Teamwork**: Just like in the Children’s Olympics, we emphasize the importance of fair play, celebrating both winning and losing gracefully. Children learn valuable lessons in resilience, cooperation, and supporting each other.
6. **Integrating Active Learning**: We incorporate physical activity into learning experiences, like moving to different stations or engaging in “learning through play” activities that require physical movement—such as acting out stories or pretending to be animals.
By regularly including these activities in our routine, we create an environment where physical activity is a natural and enjoyable part of daily life, helping children build healthy habits that will last a lifetime.Afficher plusIl y a 11 mois
