Great idea. I think it does a great job of allowing children to get used to the idea that their surroundings and the people they will be meeting will soon change.

“All About Me” Worksheet
Objective: Help children introduce themselves, feel comfortable, and start building connections with their classmates.
Worksheet Content We use:
My Name: A space for children to write or trace their name.
My Favorite Color: A section with crayons to color their favorite shade.
My Favorite Animal: A blank area to draw their favorite animal.
My Family: Space to draw their family members or a simple family tree.
When I Grow Up: A blank area for them to draw or describe what they want to be.
My Handprint: An outline to trace their hand.

School in Iceland starts in the year when child turns 6 years old, which means that some of them are stil 5 years old when beginning in school. Our first grade can be compared with the last year in kindergarten in other countries so we do it really slowly and through play. Our school and kindergarten are in the same building so 5 year old kids are regularly visiting school, share same projects, play in leisure center so they get used to "go to school".
